Eligibility

• Omani nationals and residents aged 18 years and above.
• Minors may open the account through parent/guardian.
• Valid Civil ID / Resident Card and proof of address are required.

How to Open the Account

• Visit any Sohar Islamic branch or apply through digital banking (if available).
• Submit valid ID, proof of address and any additional documents requested.
• Complete and sign the account opening form.
• Deposit the required initial amount, if applicable.
• The account and debit card will be activated after approval.

Terms & Conditions 

• The Current Account is a Shariah-compliant account based on Qard Hasan.
• Multiple currencies may be available subject to Bank approval.
• The Bank may refuse any application without giving reasons.
• The account holder must maintain accurate and updated information.
• The account may be closed if there is misuse, suspicious activity, or non-compliance with Bank policies.
• Charges, fees and limits are applied as per the Bank’s schedule of charges.
• Statements are issued digitally free of charge.
• Cheque books, remittances and demand drafts are subject to applicable fees.
